October – Months Of Good Music!

Felix Cartal – Hold Tight (Official Video)

In a world where adversity and diversity constantly threaten to tear us apart, dance music culture has always provided a safe haven of unity. Felix Cartal emulates this feeling in his new release “Hold Tight,” the B-side track to his recent hit “Get What You Give.” Though the track only possesses one lyrical sampling—its namesake “Hold Tight“—it conveys an emotionally powerful message through its euphoric and yet wistful melodies. It’s a song for the tough times, when everyone needs to know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel; it’s a song for the good times, too, when it seems as though life couldn’t possibly be better. “I liked the Hold Tight phrase, which I sampled from “Get What You Give“, as a theme,” says Felix, “I think embraces are very powerful, and the mood of the song has this sort of unresolved feeling – like we are all searching for a moment of togetherness.” This one could be a tear-jerker or a complete bliss-out experience at a live show. In either case, Cartal proves that sometimes, all you need is a hug. “Hold Tight” is released in collaboration between Polydor Records, Capitol Records, and Physical Presents and the single just got its official music video.

VHS Collection – Fire (Viceroy Remix)

NYC-based VHS Collection share the Viceroy remix of their single “Fire” via Earmilk . “We all have a devil on one shoulder and “Fire” is dedicated to him,” the band explains, “We are super excited to share our friend Viceroy’s 80s influenced, summer-vibes remix of our latest single.  We’ve been driving around with the windows down, blasting this track for the last few days and hope you all enjoy doing the same.” Stay tuned for details on VHS Collection’s debut LP, due out later this year.

Bonnie X Clyde + Purge – Torn

Bonnie X Clyde give a voice to some of the most-often repressed aspects of humanity in their new release “Torn.”. The track peels back the layers of defense we so often build to lay vulnerable emotions bare, brought to life by Bonnie‘s crystalline voice and accented with their signature harmonious bass and futuresque synths. True to form, this BXC‘s track is cathartic while also being easy to groove to. Throw “Torn” on for those long, night drives or even when you’re searching for a song to dance to with that special someone. “We all deal with the feeling of being torn in some way or another,” say Bonnie X Clyde of the inspiration behind the new track. “Torn is about expressing your true, raw feelings and coming to terms with them…and understanding it’s ok to need help and to not be ok all the time.” For their listeners, BXCcontinue to be a beacon of light in times of personal strife, when music is the best form of therapy. “Torn” was produced in collaboration with the mysterious duo Purge, who gained recognition from their debut EP, “Feel Your Love“, which was released and supported by Skrillex‘s Nest HQ and OWSLA camps. Their haunting, genre-bending design is the perfect compliment to Bonnie X Clyde‘s music.
