Interview Time☕️: with the next big act out of Montreal , BANX & RANX

EDM Thrones Interview Time☕️:

with the next big act out of Montreal , BANX & RANX

To start out, what is the meaning behind Banx & Ranx? Why choose that?

It’s a catchy name that symbolizes complementary dualities, like Rum & Coke or Yin & Yang. Once blended, it becomes it’s own phenomenon. Plus, it’s easy to remember. 🙂

Who is Banx & Ranx exactly? Tell us about your project and the people behind it?

It’s the combination of Soké & KNY Factory, two songwriters & producers cultivating their love for specific genres to blend and create “The Banx & Ranx sound”; Reggae / Dancehall, HipHop, Electro & Pop music. Sometimes we label our sound as ECM ( Electronic Caribbean Music), especially when it comes to our remixes. But, at the end of the day, we are unconditional lovers of great music and we enjoy creating unusual fusions in our songs, like Bollywood Dancehall or 70’s funk Reggae Trap.

How do you come up with your special vibes? How many people are involved?

We hang out mostly with other music people from different scenes & cultures and always try to come up with unique sounds & concepts. We work hard to make our electronic sounds feel as human and organic as possible. On the creative side, it’s mainly the 2 of us but we also collaborate with a few talented songwriters &  musicians. Collaboration is the key to artistic evolution. On the business side, we have an amazing team of managers, publishers, visual artists, marketing & label people, lawyers, accountants etc. Everybody around us contributes to our work in some way, shape or form.

Is there a specific “sound” you’re going to be pushing as an artist in 2017?

Our sound remains “The Banx & Ranx sound” (described above) and adapts to the current trends. We are fortunate that Pop music gravitates around Caribbean and Afro vibes at the moment, great timing.

We  have a detailed timeline for an abundant amount of singles including “Lit” &  “Timebomb” with Lady Leshurr.

What are your other plans for 2017 in your career?

The plan is very simple. Getting quality music released as artists or just songwriter / producers, as much as possible. Bigger songs & Collabos!

Any last remarks or comments you’d like to say?

Check out our new mixtape ” Digital Dread Mix Session Vol.2″ !!! Give thanx  for the interview.

Bless up,

Banx & Ranx
