You might be quick to say, “Well, duh,” but there’s definitely a part of us that would prefer to think that this relationship was legitimate. However, according to an insider close to Calvin, Harris believes there was a darker ulterior motive behind the whole thing:
“[Calvin] feels like everything [Taylor’s] camp does is so orchestrated. She has a pattern [of creating relationships]. He didn’t realize he was falling into her camp’s plan.”
It wasn’t until recently that Taylor Swift revealed herself to be a co-writer on Calvin’s single with Rihanna, “This Is What We Came For,” and even that she contributed a small vocal portion to the song, all under a pseudonym, “Nils Sjöberg.” Looking at the progression of events following their breakup, it’s hard not to give credence to the (even wild) theory that there was something planned and possibly underhanded following the course of this heavily publicized relationship.
Harris even tweeted after the breakup that Taylor “controlled the media,” though the tweet was taken down shortly thereafter, along with all mentions of her on his social media.
“Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though,” tweeted Calvin. “I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down.”
